Walter Osigai Etepesit is a dynamic youth leader, social justice, and climate advocate with over three years of experience in leading youth-driven action initiatives. He is the Co-ED of Vijana Aid Africa and serves as a Policy Assistant for the Climate Mobility Community Action Network. Previously, he was a member of the Youth Sounding Board of the European Union Delegation to Uganda. Walter is an alumnus of the Young African Leaders Initiative’s Climate-Tech and Innovation Program, and the Nairobi Summer School on Climate Justice. He has co-authored key documents such as the Africa Climate Mobility Youth Statement and co-founded impactful initiatives like the Marafiki United Green Youth Initiative, mobilizing over 5,000 young Ugandans for climate action. His leadership extends to organizing national programs, including the Uganda Climate Change Youth Negotiators Training and the Local Conference of Youth on Climate Change. He has been recognized as a Young Climate Champion by the Global Youth Leadership Center and a UNHCR Young Champion for Refugees.
