Brenda Nambuusi serves as a Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights Officer at Babies and Mothers Alive Foundation (BAMA) Uganda. In this role, she focuses on capacity building for adolescents aged 10 to 19 years, both within and outside of schools, in areas such as SRHR education, SGBV education, counseling, and referral pathways for victims. Additionally, Brenda teaches adolescents how to make reusable menstrual pads and promotes economic empowerment through Village Saving and Loan Schemes in the districts of Rakai and Kyotera. Furthermore, Brenda co-founded Women in Action for Community Empowerment (WACE) Uganda, a community-based organization located in Kazo, Nansana Division, Wakiso District. WACE empowers vulnerable women and girls economically through initiatives such as mushroom growing, financial literacy, skills training, and Village Saving and Loan Schemes. Brenda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Ethics and Human Rights and is an alumna of the YALI program in 2020 and the YALI Training of Trainers (ToT) program in 2023. Additionally, she is an alumna of the Forum for Women in Democracy transformative leadership program in 2018. Driven by her commitment to social justice and creating a better world, Brenda is dedicated to positively impacting her community and beyond.
