Phillip Andrew Mwebaza is a health communication professional, social entrepreneur, and founder of the African Health Grid Foundation (AFHEG). With a background in journalism and public health, he is dedicated to building a health-literate community through advocacy, creative storytelling, and gamified learning.
Phillip holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Global Health Policy Development from the University of Washington and is certified in health literacy by the CDC. Under his leadership, AFHEG has pioneered impactful projects like Superbugs Clash – Kampala Edition, a collaborative board game that raises awareness about antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and Smarty, an innovative climate-health information hub that engages students in gamified learning.
Phillip’s work focuses on empowering young people in Uganda to champion climate-health literacy and sustainable practices. He is passionate about leveraging creativity, media, and technology to transform health communication and inspire the next generation of health leaders.
