Susan Sabano a self-advocate from Uganda, living with a Disability known as cerebral Palsy. With 5 years’ experience as a Program Officer at the Umbrella Cerebral Palsy Network Association (UCPNA), where i work on Economic empowerment and advocacy for inclusive employment of people with Cerebral Palsy in both formal and informal Employment sectors. In the informal sector i lead livelihood projects for people with cerebral palsy and their parents where by i work directly at the grassroots level, supporting many families with disabilities whose members have limited education and income, in the formal sector i work together with the secretariat staff and Organizations Of persons with Disabilities (OPDs) such as National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda (NUDIPU) in advocating for inclusive employment of people with disabilities.
As a young leader am also a powerful self-advocate who has lived experience in championing inclusion within Africa and the community at large.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Social work, a Professional fellow Alumni on Inclusive Disability Employment, An Obama Africa leaders 2022 and a Young Africa Leaders Initiative (YALI) East Africa Alumni Cohort 43, a Youth Action Team member, CIVICUS and a board Member Show Abilities Uganda representing youth with cerebral palsy, A youth Researcher, Makeway and a Youth Advisory Panelist HIVOS.
