Emmanuel is a social worker and transitional justice practitioner, with passion for human rights, research, leadership and community development. Since 2014, he has been involved in implementing projects in the areas of human rights, social and transitional justice, sexual reproductive health and rights, peacebuilding, and community development in which he has played an active role in stakeholder coordination, community sensitization, youth mentorship, human rights advocacy, research and publication, and building grassroot teams and structures for community development reasons. In his work, Emmanuel has worked with various organisations at different capacities including Rwenzori Forum for Peace and Justice, Peer Education Rwenzori, MasterCard Foundation, Young Leaders Forum, and Rwenzori Abstinence and Scripture Union; and served in various leadership capacities in his former education institutions. He is also an active Board member of Peer Education Rwenzori; The Oak Women Foundation, and Kitumba Senior Secondary School in Fort Portal City. He also serves as the Participant Engagement Lead for the YALI Uganda Alumni Western Cluster.
Emmanuel holds a Honors Degree in Community Development from Mountains of the Moon University (Uganda), a Certificate of Administrative Law from Makerere University (Uganda), a Certificate in Health Systems Strengthening from the University of Melbourne (Australia), and various non-academic national and international trainings in areas of peace building, human rights, and international conflict analysis and prevention from reputable institutions such as the Young African Leaders Initiative (Cohort 39), Uganda Young Leadership Forum (2018) and African Middle East Leadership Institute (2021). He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Management.
