Crispus Byaruhanga is a Ugandan Social/Environmental Activist, Entrepreneur. He holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in International Business from Nilai University and Oxford Brookes University. Founder, Head of Operations & Research Munansi Green Initiative, and Founding Member & Chief Finance Personnel Uganda Permaculture Consortium, USAID/EYCD facilitated Youth Lead Advisory Board (YLAB). With 4 years’ experience of sales, marketing and 6 years’ experience of civil society project management. Crispus has been trained and accredited from various renowned institutions like Ministry of Water and Environment Uganda, Water Resources Institute, Red cross, YECAP, YOUNGO, Nature Footprints, YALI RLC EA, NCQG, UNCIEF, Climate Change & Environmental Sustainability, Global Youth Coalition (GYC), Oxford Net Zero (ONZ), The Nile Basin Development Forum (NBDF), Kenya Medical Association, Holistic systems cooperative, The Movers Programme, World Bank Group Youth Summit, Innovation 4 Climate, Outbox. He also works and volunteers as a Social/Environmental Advisor to Mubende Municipal and various organizations like Fridays for Future, Rotary Club, Campfire Logs Guild, Million Trees International org., FlipTown, AfroHope Foundation. With Munansi Green Initiative, Crispus led a team that planted over 40,000 fruit trees in Mubende Municipality. He was part of the team that tried to beat the world record of planting 500 Million trees in 24 hours in Mubende Municipality. However, due to the COVID-19/lockdown restrictions, the team managed to plant only 10,000 trees. He also participated in the Municipal Climate Partnerships project at COP26 at the side event showcasing a nature-based solution model for the climate change and biodiversity adaptation and mitigation agenda. He’s currently working on a joint initiative with 59 non-governmental organizations in 30 countries with a special consultative status in the United Nations Economic and Social Council to advocate for the International Patriotic Concept of "Patriotism does not come at the expense of other countries" With the background of 52nd session of the UN Human Rights Council "interactive dialogue with independent experts on the promotion of a democratic and equitable international order" and advocate the UN to draft an "international patriotic convention" and "prepare for the establishment of an international patriotic committee". Crispus is always keen to build on his interest in representing and advocating for the youth. Crispus has been involved in community-based projects to uplift the youth such as adventure cycling, mountaineering, hiking, and camping. He has used these adventure-based activities to positively impact and change the lives of the youth in Uganda and the East African region.
